Image means nothing.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired, I went through my records and started playing some of them. Next thing I knew, all I was playing was metal. Old school metal. Possessed by the music, I was at the desk drawing. Metals biggest fan. Microns, brush pen, white ink on bristol.

Blah.

Nothing like having a cold in the heart of winter. I feel like garbage. I thought doing a sketch would help somehow... it didn't. Brush pen, colouring pencils on rag tag paper.

A guest!

Here's a drawing from Sean Davis. Sean is one of my oldest and best friends. Also, he's a killer artist. He can draw like crazy and he's unreal when it comes to photography. I've been bugging him to start a blog, site, tumblr...whatever to show off his wicked skills. Maybe someday, until then here you go. A million tiny dots. Might be more. I just wish I could have scanned this sucker.

In Hammersmith Palais.

A sketch that came together really quick of possibly my favorite band. They're at least in my the top 3. The Clash! Or, more so, Joe Strummer. I can't stress enough how much I'm inspired, empowered and just pure love this band. Microns, brush, black and white ink on bristol. Long live The Clash!

Laying low.

I'm really not sure where this came from, or why I drew it. I guess just to do a drawing and shake off the November blahs. Microns, brush pen, white ink on bristol.

The reason why.

A while back my buddy Marty, did me a favour. Over a beer or four, with Marty asking nicely, I agreed to do a drawing of his dog Gus. He's a monster of a dog, but a total softy. Plus, I wanted to do something nice for helping me out.

That was back in late July. I didn't end up finishing the drawing and giving it to Martin until Oct. 11th.

This is one of many reasons I hate doing any sort of commission work. It takes me forever and knowing it's taking me soo long, makes things worse. Especially when it's a portrait of some sort. It's not that I hate doing the work. I just want it to look right and that's the hard part. People know what their pets, baby, parents, whatever, look like better than I do. Trying to get something down on paper that will satisfy them and myself, drives me nuts. Which leads to mistakes. Not little tiny one's that are easy to fix. Big, bad one's that take forever to blend out.

So, you can ask me to draw your (enter family member or pet here). Chances are, 99.9999 per cent of the time, I'm going to say no! Sorry.

Well, after all that rambling, here's Gus. Brush pen, microns, ink wash, white ink on bristol.

Dead by dawn.

Ash from Evil Dead 2. I love this movie. Actually, I love the whole series. I realize the lighting is all over the place, but I figured by this point in the movie, things get really weird. So, if they can go crazy, I can too. Brush pen, microns, ink wash, water colour (red) on bristol.

Elephant action!

Prints for sale! They're from a drawing I did a while back, inspired by Mike Vallely's first board. A great friend of mine, Eric Chamois did the screening work. They look great! Follow this LINK, or hit up my store if you're interested.
